Welcome to My World of Gourd ART
It has become a fast growing medium in the art world. Amazingly gourds have been transformed into various forms of beautiful art.
My art is a combination of pyrography, carving, cut outs and painting. My technique includes multiple use of dyes, stains, metallic patinas, gold leafing and acrylics. Many of my pieces have been coiled with pine needles, plant fibers, philodendron sheaths, paper rush, Danish cord coiling, wax linen coiling ,and Navajo coiling,(which is wax linen wrapped around paper rush), or a combination. Artificial sinew, wax linen, & leather are used as binders for the coiling. I have added Weaving to my repertoire. The use of authentic antlers and wire wrapping are a favorite of many of my clients. I also enjoy embellishing the gourds with Inlace, inlaid gems, beads ,& feathers.
